The ZGB series of high-efficiency and wear-resistant pumps are single-stage, single-suction, axially-inlet cantilever horizontal centrifugal pumps. These slurry pumps can be widely used in departments such as metallurgy, mining, electric power, coal mines, water conservancy, chemical industry, light industry, and petroleum to transport abrasive or corrosive slurries containing a large amount of solid materials. They are especially suitable for transporting power plant ash.

II. Structural Features of ZGB Slurry Pumps

For ZGB slurry pumps, except for the different structures of the pump head part (including the front and rear pump casings, volute, front and rear wear plates, impeller, etc.), the structures of the remaining parts are similar. They adopt the transmission parts of the same series. The structural features will be described separately according to the pump head part, the shaft seal part, and the transmission part as follows:

1. Shaft Seal Part of ZGB Slurry Pumps: There are three forms of shaft seals, namely the auxiliary impeller shaft seal, the packing shaft seal, and the mechanical seal.

• Mechanical Seal: For working conditions that are not suitable for the above two types of shaft seals, a mechanical seal is adopted to reduce the number of maintenance times for the shaft seal part.

• Packing Shaft Seal: The packing shaft seal has a simple structure and is convenient for maintenance. It requires the use of shaft seal water. For working conditions that are not suitable for the auxiliary impeller shaft seal and for the working conditions where the pump is used for suction, the packing shaft seal can be adopted.

• Auxiliary Impeller Shaft Seal: For single-stage pumps when the positive pressure value at the pump inlet is not greater than 10% of the pump outlet pressure value, or for the third-stage pump in a multi-stage series connection, the auxiliary impeller shaft seal can be adopted. The auxiliary impeller shaft seal has the advantages of not diluting the ore pulp and having a good sealing effect.

2. Pump Head Part of ZGB Slurry Pumps: The ZGB series of slurry pumps have a double-pump casing structure, that is, the front pump casing, the rear pump casing, and the replaceable flow-through parts (including the impeller, volute, front wear plate, and rear wear plate). According to the working pressure, the front and rear pump casings are made of gray cast iron or ductile iron, with a vertical split and connected by bolts. The rear pump casing has a positioning step and is connected to the bracket by bolts. The discharge port of the slurry pump can be installed in eight rotational angles. The front and rear covers of the impeller are equipped with back vanes to reduce leakage and improve the service life and efficiency of the pump. The inlets of all types of pumps are horizontal, and the pump rotates clockwise when viewed from the transmission direction.

3. Transmission Part: ZGB slurry pumps all adopt the transmission of the same series, including the bracket and the bearing assembly. The pump shaft has a large diameter, good rigidity, and a short cantilever, and will not bend or vibrate under harsh working conditions. The bearings are selected as single-row tapered roller bearings and deep groove ball bearings. The combined use can bear the large axial and radial loads of the pump. The bearings are lubricated with thin oil. There are sealing end covers at both ends of the bearing body, which can effectively prevent the entry of dirt such as ore pulp into the bearings. There are two rubber hose connectors in the bearing body of the ZGB slurry pump, which can be connected to the water source to cool the bearing chamber. Therefore, it can work at a relatively high ambient temperature, ensuring the safe operation of the bearings and having a relatively long service life.
